Brave Rewards allows you to accumulate tokens referred to as Basic Attention Tokens, or 'BAT' for short, by viewing advertisements within the Brave browser.
Linking your Uphold account with the Brave Browser enables you to receive your BAT tokens directly into your Uphold wallet.
Brave Tips and Auto-contribute
You have multiple options for tipping using Brave Rewards:
On-demand
On-demand contributions are like tips. Visit a Verified Creator website or channel, then press the BAT icon in the URL bar. Verified Creators are marked with a blue checkmark.
Auto-contribute
The Auto-Contribute feature allows you to set a monthly contribution budget, which gets automatically divided across the Verified Creators you visit each month, based on how much time you spend on their content

Payout delays
If you didn’t receive your payout yet, it might be important to double-check a few things first:
- Brave Ads payout transactions begin on 7th of each month, but it may take several days to fully process the large list of transactions. You may therefore see other users receiving their payouts before yours arrives.
- Additionally, if you are using Brave Rewards on multiple devices, they may be paid out at separate times – that is, you may receive payment for one of your devices before the other(s).
- If you only recently enabled Brave Ads you will receive your payout in next month’s payout period, since Brave payouts begin on the 7th of each month.
- It’s also important to have in mind that Brave, not Uphold, processes the payout transactions.

Payout discrepancies
If you noticed some discrepancies on your Brave rewards monthly payout or if you only received a portion of it, it might be important to double-check a few things first:
- If you are using Brave Rewards on multiple devices, they may be paid out at separate times – that is, you may receive payment for one of your devices before the other(s).
