Brave Rewards is a feature in the Brave browser that lets you earn free crypto — called (Basic Attention Token) or BAT for short — just for viewing ads. It’s a way to get rewarded for your attention.
You can connect your Uphold wallet to Brave, and get your BAT earnings sent straight to it — ready to hold, trade, or use to tip your favourite online creators.
Brave Tips
Brave Rewards gives you a few different ways to tip and support your favourite Verified Creators.
On-demand
On-demand contributions are one-time tips you can send to content creators you like.
When you visit a website or channel on the Brave Browser that’s from a Verified Creator (look for the blue checkmark), you’ll see a BAT icon in the browser’s address bar. Click it, and you’ll have the option to send some of your BAT as a tip — instantly and directly.
It’s a simple way to support creators you enjoy, using the BAT you’ve earned through Brave Rewards.
Recurring contributions
Once your Brave Rewards account is connected to your Uphold wallet, you can set up a recurring monthly tip to a Verified Creator you want to support regularly.
To do this:
- Visit the creator’s site or channel (look for the blue checkmark).
- Click the BAT icon in the address bar.
- Toggle on "Recurring monthly contribution" when sending a tip.
Your selected amount will be sent automatically every 30 days from your BAT balance.
You can manage or cancel your recurring contributions at any time by going to brave://rewards in the Brave browser.
BAT payout delays and discrepancies
Payout delays
If you’ve yet to receive your payout, you should first note the below:
- Brave Ads payouts start processing around the 7th of each month, but due to the high volume of transactions, it can take a few days for everyone to receive theirs. It’s normal to see others get paid before you.
- If you’re using Brave Rewards on multiple devices, payouts may arrive at different times for each one.
- Also, if you only recently enabled Brave Ads, your first payout will come in the next month’s cycle.
For any additional questions, consult Brave Ads Payout Status updates.
Payout discrepancies
If you noticed some discrepancies on your Brave rewards monthly payout or if you only received a portion of it, it might be important to double-check a few things first:
- Using multiple devices? BAT earned on each device is paid out separately. You might see a payout from one device before the others.
- Check for contributions. Some of your BAT may have been used for on-demand or recurring contributions to creators you support. Learn more about contributions here.
- Wallet limit reached? Brave only allows up to 4 Rewards wallets to be linked to a single Uphold account. More on that here.
