Invite a friend

Inviting your friends to join Uphold is easy. Just send a transaction invite. Once they’ve accepted, you can easily send cash or crypto to friends anytime.

Note: The “Invite a Friend” feature is currently only available to users in the US and select regions. It is not available in the UK or Europe.

 

How do I invite friends to join Uphold?

Inviting a friend is a simple two-step process. First, you create the transaction invite. Then, your friend just needs to accept it to complete the transaction.

  1. From the Home page, tap Send.
  2. Tap Email on the welcome page.
  3. Select Send to a new contact, enter their email, and Continue to confirm the invite will be sent.
  4. Next, choose your funding source and enter the desired amount to be sent.
  5. As you Continue, you'll be able to preview your transaction. If everything looks good, tap Confirm send. your friend's email address.
  6. Enter the verification code we sent to your phone number to confirm. That's it, your invitation was sent!


Your friend will receive the email invitation and will need to open an Uphold account and accept your transaction invite.
  1. Open your inbox and find your friend's Uphold account invitation email.
  2. Click on the email and follow the steps to open your Uphold account.
  3. On the Activity screen, you'll spot your friend's invitation.
  4. Click to accept the invite and receive the funds they sent.


 

When you accept your friend's transaction invite, your friend will receive a notification as well.

 

Can I invite friends in other countries?

That depends on where both you and your friend are located.

The "Invite a Friend" feature is not supported for users residing in the UK and Europe. 

Additionally, fiat-to-fiat transactions between US and non-US users are not allowed.
