No account is created, and no changes are made, unless the action is confirmed by clicking the link in the email.
Why did I get this email?
Automated tools are often used by scammers to submit email addresses sourced online into signup or account-change forms in an attempt to find out whether that email address is associated with a financial institution.
This is a common tactic across the industry and is not specific to Uphold.
Someone submitted your email address into a form on our site, either during signup or while trying to change the email on an existing account.
This does not mean an account has been created in your name. You can safely ignore the email.
Did Uphold share my email address?
No. Whoever submitted your email address already had it - they did not obtain it from Uphold. No personal information has been accessed or shared as a result.
Should I click the link in the email?
Only if you were expecting the email and want to proceed. If you weren't expecting it, ignore or delete it. Nothing happens automatically.
