What is Uphold Autopilot?
AutoPilot is an automatic trading feature built into your Uphold account. Instead of you having to manually buy, sell, or try to guess the best time to trade crypto, AutoPilot follows set rules to manage your money automatically on a weekly schedule.

Where is Autopilot available?
Autopilot is available to legal residents in all Uphold-supported jurisdictions, except:
- European Economic Area (EEA)
- United Kingdom
- United States: Louisiana, New York, American Samoa, and U.S. Virgin Islands
Autopilot Strategies
AutoPilot offers two automated trading strategies. You can choose to run one or both at the same time - it's completely up to you.
What strategies are available?
Momentum
Buys assets within the top 10 cryptos in Uphold (by market cap and excluding stablecoins) when prices show upward momentum, and moves money into cash when momentum falls.
- Every week, it checks eligible top cryptos across short, medium, and long-term time periods.
- An asset is bought or held only if it shows a positive upward trend over its long-term period and at least two of the three time periods overall.
- Money is split based on price movements, putting larger shares into lower-volatility assets and smaller shares into higher-volatility assets to manage risk.
- If an asset stops meeting these trend rules, AutoPilot automatically moves or keeps those funds in cash until market conditions improve.
- When an asset leaves the top 10: AutoPilot automatically sells the asset that dropped out, buys the new entering asset, if it fulfills the upward momentum criteria.
Big10
Invests in the top 10 cryptos in Uphold (by market cap and excluding stablecoins) and stays fully invested at all times.
- Money is split based on relative market cap.
- Every week, AutoPilot automatically rebuilds the portfolio to track current relative market cap ratios.
- When an asset leaves the top 10: AutoPilot automatically sells the asset that dropped out, buys the new entering asset, and adjusts each coin's share to keep risk balanced across the whole group.
