This article provides instructions on how to link your debit/credit card, ACH bank account, SEPA / FPS bank account and Apple Pay to your Uphold account, as well as how to deposit via wire transfer.
Click on the respective payment methods below for instructions.
- Go to "Menu" in the application.
- Select "Linked Accounts."
- Under "My Cards," click on the "+" symbol to add your card.
- Enter the card details, such as the card number, validation date, and CVV.
- Click the "Add Card" button.
Web
- Click “...” on the left, to access the "More" option.
- Select “Linked accounts”
- Click “+” next to “My banks” to add your bank account.
- Select “US Dollar.”
- Follow the Plaid instructions displayed on your screen to connect your bank account.*
Mobile
- Tap the “Fund account” tile.
- Tap “ACH bank deposit”.
- Tap “ACH bank account”.
- Follow the Plaid instructions to connect your bank account.*
Web
- Click “...” on the left, to access the "More" option.
- Select “Linked accounts”
- Click “+” next to “My banks” to add your bank account.
- Select “US Dollar.”
- Select “Link with account numbers”.
- Follow the Plaid instructions displayed on your screen to connect your bank account.*
Mobile
- Tap the “Fund account” tile.
- Tap “ACH bank deposit”.
- Tap “Add ACH account”.
- Select “Link with account numbers”.
- Follow the Plaid instructions to connect your bank account.*
- Go to "Menu" in the application.
- Select "Linked Accounts."
- Under "My Banks," click on the "+" symbol to add a bank account.
- It will take you to the "Transact" screen, where you can complete a deposit from the bank account you want to add.
- Click on “Select source” on the Anything to Anything screen.
- Click on “+” on “My banks”
- Select “US dollar”.
- Then click on “Make a bank transfer”.
- Select the asset you want to fund your account with on the “To” field.
- The Reference code will update to identify the asset you chose as well as your account
- You’ll find all the details required to initiate a wire transfer in USD from your bank account.
- Tap the “Fund account” tile.
- Tap “Wire transfer”.
- Select the asset you want to fund your account with on the “To” field.
- The Reference code will update to identify the asset you chose as well as your account
- You’ll find all the details required to initiate a wire transfer in USD from your bank account.
- Tap “Transact” on the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen
- Tap "From", choose Apple Pay and enter the amount
- Tap "To" and choose the asset
- Tap “Preview deposit”
- Check all the details
- Tap “Buy with Apple Pay”
- Select the card you want to use and confirm the transaction!
Apple Pay is available in these countries.
Please note: You must also reside in a country where we accept debit/credit card payments.
- Tap “Transact” on the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen
- Tap "From", choose Google Pay and enter the amount
- Tap "To" and choose the asset
- Tap “Preview deposit”
- Check all the details
- Tap “Buy with Google Pay”
- Select the card you want to use and confirm the transaction!
Google Pay is available in these countries.
Please note: You must also reside in a country where we accept debit/credit card payments.
Obtaining a crypto deposit address
1 - Go to your Portfolio tile.
2 - Choose the crypto account associated with the asset you want to deposit.
3 - Tap on the ellipsis (...) or the additional options menu.
4 - Select "Wallet Address" to generate a page displaying the crypto address for that specific asset.
5 - You can copy the wallet address or scan the QR code if you prefer.
Additionally, you'll find useful details about the transaction, such as the name of your receiving account and the estimated settlement time for your crypto deposit.
Don’t forget your destination tag/memo when depositing cryptocurrencies employ destination tags/memos to differentiate transactions!
Important Update on VISA Card Policy
As of July 31, 2024, VISA has updated its policy requiring that VISA cards used for transactions within the US must be issued in the US. If you encounter issues while linking or using a VISA card, and you believe your card should comply with this policy, please contact your bank or card provider for further assistance
Manage or remove a payment method
You can easily manage the cards and bank accounts on your Uphold account using the app:
- Open the Uphold app on your device.
- Tap the "More" menu located in the top-left corner.
- Select "Linked accounts" from the options.
- To remove a card or bank account, tap on the one you want to remove, and then select the "Remove" option.
