New Mobile App: How to link your credit/debit card or bank account

Applies to version 4.0 and later.

Linking your credit card, debit card or bank account means you have lots of easy ways to fund your account.

Credit/Debit Card

  1. Tap Screenshot_2020-01-27_at_12.47.11.png at the bottom right of your screen
  2. Tap "Linked Accounts"
  3. Tap the + option at the top right of your screen
  4. Select "Credit or debit card"
  5. Enter the Credit/debit card information and select your currency
  6. Tap "Add Credit/debit card"
  7. You're done!

Bank Account

  2. Tap  "Settings"
  3. Tap "Linked Accounts"
  4. Tap the + option at the top right of your screen
  5. Select the "Bank Account" option for your region
  6. Enter the Bank Account details and select a currency
  7. Tap "Add Account"
  8. You're done!

If you want to add a US bank account, you'll need to authenticate your ownership of the account using Plaid. It's a simple process that protects you from fraud by preventing anyone from moving money out of your bank account without your permission. For more details, click here.


Each region and currency has different transfer methods to bank accounts:

And each has a different speed for processing. GBP deposits are instant, while EUR and USD take a few business days.

Bank account withdrawal is offered to all users verified on Uphold within supported countries, you can find them here. If you have not yet verified your account, please click here to login and complete the verification process.

Deposits made via credit/debit card will be immediately available for use in your Uphold wallet. To ensure the security of your account, there is a 24 hour settlement period before you can withdraw or send funds deposited via credit/debit card.

Please note that:

   - Uphold only supports Visa and Mastercard

   - We require that all debit/credit cards are 3D secure eligible 

If your card is not 3D secure eligible, you will receive an error message and the transaction will fail. Selected banks will require various steps to authorize the initial purchase using 3D secure, so please get in touch with your bank if you need further help with 3D secure.
