Managing the Uphold Debit Card

Want to get the most out of your Uphold Debit Card? Here’s how to order, activate, and manage it step by step.

Order a physical card

Follow these steps to request your physical Uphold card directly through the app:

1. Tap the Uphold card tile to access your card.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Get physical card and follow the prompts to complete the card order.

What if I don’t receive my card?

🇺🇸 U.S. users

If you don’t receive your card within 3 weeks of card shipment, report it in the app:

1. Tap the Uphold card tile to access your card.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Report card as lost or stolen.
4. Select My card was damaged/not received and follow the prompts.

A new virtual card is immediately available, to request a new physical card follow the steps in Order a physical card.

🇬🇧 U.K users

If you don’t receive your card within 30 days of the card order date, contact support.
 

Activate your physical card

1. Open the app.
2. Go to the Card tile.
3. Tap Activate card.

Top up or change your funding source

Choose your preferred currency or any digital asset as your card’s funding source. 

Select Funding Source:

1. Tap the card tile to access the card section.
2. Tap Change.
3. Select which funding source you want to use.

Top-Up a Funding Source: 

1. Tap Transact at the bottom.
2. Under Source, choose where the funds will come from (bank account, debit card...).
3. Set as Destination the card used to fund your Uphold Card (Identifiable by a small card icon).
4. Enter the amount and follow the prompts.

View & change your PIN

🇺🇸 US users

If you forgot your PIN, you can change it in the app:

1. Tap the Uphold card tile and go to settings
2. Tap Change PIN.
3. Enter your new PIN
4. Complete 2-factor authentication.

For your security, the PIN screen will close automatically after a few seconds.
 

🇬🇧 UK users

If you have a physical Uphold Card, you can change your PIN at an ATM or quickly view it within the app:

1. Tap the Uphold card tile and go to settings
2. Tap View PIN.
3. Complete 2-factor authentication.

For your security, the PIN screen will close automatically after a few seconds.

Note: Virtual cards don’t come with a PIN. If a merchant asks for one, you'll need a physical Uphold Card to complete the payment.

Card renewal process

We’ll automatically handle your card renewal before your physical Uphold Card expires, so you can keep using it without interruption.

• You’ll be notified when the process begins and asked to confirm or update your account address.
• Once your new card ships, you’ll receive a notification that it’s on the way.
• Delivery can take up to 30 days after dispatch.
• Don’t forget to activate your new card as soon as it arrives.
   

✅ Your virtual card remains fully usable throughout the renewal process.

View your activity & access statements

You can track your spending anytime in the Uphold card tile. Transactions are organized by month and category.

If you are a US user, you can also download monthly statements for easy record-keeping by following these steps:

1. Tap the Uphold card tile and go to settings
2. Tap Statements.

Limits

ATM Withdrawals:

• Essential: $500 daily (max 3 transactions) | $2,000 monthly  (max 10 transactions) 
• Elite: $2,000 daily  (max 3 transactions) | $10,000 monthly  (max 30 transactions) 

Retail Transactions:

• Essential: $2,500 daily | $10,000 monthly
• Elite: $25,000 daily | $100,000 monthly

Fees*

New / replacement physical Card:

• Essential: $4.99
• Elite: $0 (Initial card and 1 replacement per year) | $29.99 (additional replacements)

ATM:

• Essential: $2.95 (ATM fees may apply)
• Elite: $0 (ATM fees may apply)

Foreign transactions: 

• Essential: $1.50 (Flat fee on all foreign transactions and separate FX fees may apply)
• Elite: $0 (FX fees may apply)

*Service fees apply when a cryptoasset or a commodity is used as the card’s funding source.
